What ⬆️ means

A thick, but short white arrow printed onto a blue square that's characterized by rounded corners. The width and length of the arrow would vary across different platforms.

The ⬆️ Up Arrow emoji indicates upward motion/movement. Apart from a key on the keyboard, this emoji also suggests a sense of moving 'higher', getting better, and an overall mark of improvement.

How and when to use it

While talking about 'growth' and it's many other synonyms generally, bring in ⬆️. For instance, "I'm so proud of your progress! ⬆️" or "Here are some growth statistics of my mental health ⬆️".
If you're texting someone to think big or be the bigger person and other such reassurances, you may use ⬆️. Like, "Think big, dude ⬆️ Don't fall into the same ditch they eat from" or "You're a much bigger person than all of them combined ⬆️".
From the 'keyboard' perspective, ⬆️ essentially means to 'move upwards' or in other words, to move higher. So, it doesn't matter if the framework is spirituality, employment, or standard of living ⬆️ could support all such causes.
While suggesting an increase, then too, you can use ⬆️. For example, "There's been a great increase in my tolerance these days! ⬆️ I just stop giving a damn after the first few minutes!".
