The Daily Five

Five emojis. Four names each. No pressure. (Some pressure.)

Setting up today's board…

The rules, such as they are

You get five emojis, one at a time, each drawn in its official artwork. Pick the right name from four options β€” the names are the formal ones from the Unicode standard, which is exactly why some of them feel wrong. That feeling is the game.

One puzzle per day, the same for everyone everywhere, and it flips over at midnight UTC. Your streak lives in this browser: play daily and it grows, skip a day and it starts over. The share button copies a spoiler-free scorecard, so the group chat sees your five squares, not the answers.

After the last round you'll get links to all five emojis' full pages β€” meanings, platform designs, the lot. If a name genuinely stumped you, the reading is the consolation prize. Warm up with the category pages or study this year's new arrivals; they turn up in here more often than chance would suggest.
