🪯
What 🪯 means
The Khanda — the emblem of the Sikh faith: a double-edged sword at center, a chakkar (circle) around it, flanked by two crossed kirpans. The 🪯 Khanda emoji (Emoji 15.0, September 2022) gave the world's fifth-largest religion its symbol on the keyboard, joining ✝️ ☪️ 🕉️ ✡️ and the rest.
Each element carries meaning: divine knowledge, the oneness of God, and the balance of spiritual and temporal power (miri-piri).
How and when to use it
- Festival greetings: "Happy Vaisakhi! 🪯"
- Gurdwara visits and community (sangat) posts: "Langar seva this morning 🪯 heart is full."
- A respectful marker of Sikh identity in bios and celebrations — treat it with the same care as any faith symbol.
