We all love vacations. Be it a long weekend or a massive international holiday, we want to take the chance and sometimes even the risk to have a good time. However, holidays are not always about vacationing because many of us hate the idea of going and staying anywhere other than home.
In this blog post, we aim to cover all types of holidays. Mostly, the norm and a couple of ideas to relax and rewind. From the slumber vacations to the hard-core traveling ones and also to the “much-needed” break, which is mostly, sleep or a steamy shower. Presenting, holiday emojis.
🙌 the instant reaction to news about a holiday. Now, the ‘holiday’ here, is not synonymous to a planned vacation but to national holidays or special days of observation.
👨🏻💼: Tomorrow’s a holiday, man!
🧔🏽♂️: What the heck! Why?! 🙌 🙌
👨🏻💼: You don’t even know the reason and you’re already already raising hand 🙌?
🧔🏽♂️: Heck, yeah! But why tho, tell me.
👨🏻💼: It’s Christmas, man. How drunk are you?
Here’s a famous ‘holiday symbol’. The suitcase, or the traveling kit! 🧳 is one of the many vacation emojis you could use in this holiday context, where most of the time is spent in travel and tourism.
Some of the other emojis include your modes of transport, like 🛫 Air Travel, a 🚗 Road Trip, or 🚆 Train Journeys. Your focused activity, like 🏄 Surfing, 🧗 Climbing, 🤿 Scuba Diving. Or your vacation spot, like the 🏖️ Beach, a ❄️ Snowy Place, the ⛰️ Mountains.
We’d like to call 📖, the reading emoji. Different people prefer to spend their holiday(s) differently. While someone out there is vacationing at a beach in Bali, someone else prefers to sit at home and read a nice book. It’s all subjective preference.
So, 📖 talks a little about that subjectivity. If you’re someone who prefers reading a book or indulging in any other leisure apart from the mentioned ways of spending a holiday, then this emoji is for you.
The next few emojis (this one included) will be talking about the “subjective ideas of a holiday”. Some of us believe in mindfully spending our breaks or time-outs. It could be hours of uninterrupted 🧘♀️ Meditation or if you don’t sit well with that, then an alternative to the same amount of peace and calm is writing.
Writing is a lot more therapeutic than we know. Putting raw thoughts, ideas, emotions onto paper could be relieving as hell. Besides, ✍️ also signifies painting, sketching, drawing, writing letters, sculpting, all of that. Which makes ✍️ super versatile when it comes to ‘e-ventful’ ways of spending one’s holiday. Geddit?
An entire week of hustling and side hustling deserves to crash in solitude but with a hint of creative energy. The kind that’s renewing and now exhausting, and what better option than baking!
When all else fails, head for a swim! Swimming is another wonderful option while mindfully indulging in some ‘met time’.
It doesn’t matter if you’re in an exotic spot, or if you’re just stuck at home, you could always head for a swim at the nearest pool, or the beach (if you’re that lucky beech!).
If you’re tired of going all out and creative to make the most of a holiday, 🍿 is listening. This emoji encompasses the binge and the moderated screen time; a great movie or a great show in one day. It’s all about consuming content without feeling burdened.
If you’re directed more towards relaxing your body and mind more than exerting it gleefully during a holiday, then there’s nothing like a good old steamy shower. Stay a little longer than usual in the shower. Relax a little while longer. Include some vital 🧴 Skin and Hair Care, some 🎵 Music, and 🍷 Wine too (if you have the age for it).
Consuming every holiday all to ourselves can get a little tiring. Because there’s only so much you can do with and to yourself on a holiday. And when you’ve actually hit that rock bottom of helping yourself, help another!
Call a close friend, a family member, just about anybody who’s in the closest circle. Sometimes, hours of communication over the phone (especially during the pandemic) can be one of the very few things that can still keep you going.
When it’s a single-day or a two-day weekend, we end up “covering” for all the sleep lost throughout the week. That’s not only an unhealthy practice, but it’s also quite draining. After unnaturally long hours of sleep, you’re bound to feel a little out of place. Think about the last time you woke up after dark. It sucks!
But, this section ain’t about that. 💤 doesn’t talk about that unhealthy practice. Instead, it talks about slowing down a little. Wake up a little later than usual. Take a nap during an odd hour. Sleep sooner than usual. Slow down. Everything’s not about a hustle.
Holidays come and go, but what we do with those off days is what tends to define us. Not to others, but to ourselves. How we spend our free time has a bigger impact on our overall health. So, the next time you’re recommending some holiday ideas, using them yourself, or writing a social media post about it, we hope these emojis are helpful.
