Eight o'clock is the hour American network TV settled its whole prime-time schedule around for decades, the moment the evening's real programming kicked off. It still reads as the start of an evening plan more than any other hour on the shelf, whatever that plan actually turns out to be.
What 🕗 means
A round timepiece with a light-grey frame and a white dial showing no numbers or spokes, but the hour-hand and the minute-hand point towards 8 and 12 respectively (you'd know the numbers by instinct).
