Yellow for sun and prosperity, green for forests and hope, red for the courage and blood spent defending the homeland: that's how Lithuanians describe their yellow-green-red tricolor. First adopted in 1918, it was banned for decades under Soviet rule before returning for good in 1991. Today it shows up on everything from basketball jerseys to Baltic pride gear.
