The bottom band of Armenia's flag is often called apricot, after the fruit the country has grown for millennia (its scientific name, Prunus armeniaca, gives away the connection). Red stands for the Armenian highland and the people's endurance, blue for peaceful skies, and that apricot orange for hard work and creativity. It's flown widely by the Armenian diaspora.
