Guess the Disney movie by emoji
Animated movies live or die on a handful of images — a rose under glass, a red balloon, a guitar nobody's allowed to touch. So that's the whole game: twenty Disney and Pixar films flattened into three or four emoji apiece, no titles, no character names, no cheating. The first five are practically free. After that I stopped being nice, and the last six are built to make you doubt movies you've seen a dozen times. Tap a riddle to flip it, and you get the title plus one line of commentary, because a bare answer is no fun at all.
Round one: gimmes (1–5)
1. 🌊🛶🐔
Moana — She sails past the reef her whole village fears, guided by her grandmother's ghost and a chicken with zero survival instincts.
2. 🧞🪔🐒
Aladdin — Three wishes, one lamp, and he spends the first one turning himself into a prince he then has to keep lying about all night.
3. 🧜♀️🐚🔱
The Little Mermaid — She trades her voice for legs, which remains the worst deal any Disney character has ever signed.
4. 👠🎃🕛
Cinderella — Midnight is a hard deadline and she still leaves a shoe behind — rough night for someone with a fairy godmother on retainer.
5. 🍎👸⛏️
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs — Seven dwarfs warn her not to trust strangers, and the first apple a stranger hands her is the one that gets her.
Round two: it gets real (6–14)
6. 🐰🦊🚔
Zootopia — Predator and prey crack a case the whole department already wrote off, mostly by refusing to hate each other.
7. ⚔️🐲🌸
Mulan — She fakes being a man to save her father's life and turns out to be better at war than any of the actual soldiers.
8. 👸💇♀️🏮
Tangled — Seventy feet of hair turns out to be a rope, a nightlight, and a weapon, all before the lanterns even show up.
9. 💀🎸🌼
Coco — One kid sneaks into the land of the dead over a family guitar ban, and it's somehow the tenderest movie on this list.
10. 🎈🏠👴
Up — Balloons over a retirement home was always going to win, given the alternative.
11. 🐀👨🍳🍲
Ratatouille — Paris's best new chef is a rat steering a line cook by the hair, which no health inspector survives hearing about.
12. 👹🚪😱
Monsters, Inc. — Turns out screams were the inefficient energy source the whole time. Laughter was sitting right there.
13. 🧠😢😡
Inside Out — Joy spends the whole runtime learning that Sadness isn't the enemy, which is a lot of insight for a movie aimed at nine-year-olds.
14. 🕯️🏠🌟
Encanto — Every cousin gets a magic gift except one, and she's the only one who notices the house is actually cracking apart.
Round three: no mercy (15–20)
15. 🤖🌱🚀
WALL-E — Barely two hundred words pass between them and it's still the most romantic thing Pixar's ever made.
16. 🏎️🛣️🔧
Cars — Getting stranded in a town the interstate bypassed fixes this rookie faster than any race ever could.
17. 🏹👩🦰🐻
Brave — Turning her mother into a bear is, weirdly, this princess's most reasonable move all movie.
18. 🐟🍝🛵
Luca — Two sea monsters spend a summer passing as human for pasta, a Vespa, and a bike race worth the risk of exposure.
19. 🐸👑🎷
The Princess and the Frog — Kissing the frog prince turns her into a frog too — the one twist this genre never saw coming.
20. 🎹👻🌌
Soul — A jazz pianist dies, argues his way out of the afterlife, and spends the whole movie learning the point was never the gig.
Still want more
That's the pack — twenty films, hopefully more wins than the group chat is willing to admit. Want a different genre entirely? The full emoji quiz hub has the live-action version of this same riddle format, plus a streak game and an arcade wing that never runs dry. Or swing by The Daily Five for a fresh five-round puzzle every day at midnight UTC — no account, no mercy there either.
