Chinese and Malay communities each wanted their own symbol on Singapore's new flag in 1959 — stars for one, a crescent for the other — so the compromise put both in the canton, on a red-over-white field. The crescent stands for a young nation on the rise, the five stars for democracy, peace, progress, justice, and equality.
What 🇸🇬 means
A rectangular flag horizontally divided in half with the top half printed in red along with a white right-facing crescent moon and five white and tiny five-pointed stars. The lower half of this flag is white.
The 🇸🇬 Flag: Singapore emoji refers to Singapore; a maritime city-state in Southeast Asia. It is officially known as the Republic of Singapore and the country code is SG, which would appear in place of this flag emoji on platforms that don't support the latter.

Seeing a blank box instead of the emoji somewhere? Here's why that happens. Curious why the designs above don't match to begin with? Here's why that happens too.
