Chad's flag is a blue-yellow-red vertical triband that looks, at a glance, almost identical to Romania's, right down to the stripe order. The resemblance traces back to 1959, when Chad swapped an earlier green stripe for a darker blue rather than risk confusion with neighboring Mali's flag. Line them up and Chad's blue reads a shade deeper, closer to indigo than Romania's brighter cobalt.
What 🇹🇩 means
A rectangular flag with three vertical stripes, namely, dark blue, yellow, and red, placed from the left to the right. The 🇹🇩 Flag: Chad emoji represents the North-Central African country of Chad, formally known as the Republic of Chad.
This emoji is shown as 'TD' on some platforms.
The flag itself shows vertical blue, yellow, and red bands — nearly identical to Romania's flag; the two countries have politely agreed to disagree about it. As with every flag emoji, it's built from two regional-indicator letters, so a few platforms display the letter pair instead of the artwork.
